Why UTF-8 handling matters
Browser btoa and atob operate on byte-oriented strings. This tool uses TextEncoder and TextDecoder so characters such as emoji and non-English scripts are converted correctly.
Base64 does not secure data
Encoding is reversible and requires no secret key. Never treat a Base64 string as encrypted, hashed or confidential.
